Paiste 302 series 14" Hi-Hats Reviews 2

I purchased these at my local percussion store before the first gig one of my past bands played because at the time, I was using the crappy paper thin cymbals that cam with my set. I was still starting out, so I was on a huge budget and settled on these for around $60.

Pros: -Extremely affordable -Decent sound for a begginer or practice set. -When struck open, the top cymbal has very good tone.

Cons: -Not very durable at all. -Poor "chick" sound when closed. -Don't get very loud. -Very soft metal and a bit unresponsive for stick work.

They are the cheapest pair of Hi-Hat's possible while staying in the "Real Cymbal" league. This kept in mind, they are worth the price for a practice set. I have owned them for about three years and they are just starting to crack.

I would not recommend these to someone even as a beginner who is thinking about playing live or getting serious in a band, because even if they do work for a while, your gonna end up shelling out a lot more a few years down the road for some proffesional one. If your just messing around for fun at home or with a acouple of your friends, by all means, save your money and get the 302's.
